Hi folks,

OK, so here I am, 2 weeks into a 4 week trip to New Zealand and Australia, and I thought I'd write a quick note to the Pathy guys.I've been taking tons of pictures of course, and much to my wife's displeasure, I've also been taking pictures of some interesting vehicles here that we would never see in North America. I'll post up a bunch of them when I get back. Some interesting observations: The Infinti name plate is non-existent here. What looks like an Infiniti has a Nissan nameplate on it instead. Also, the Asians have the car market pretty well cornered here. Honda, Toyota, Hyundia, etc dominate the market. There are no GM nameplates to be seen either. No Chevy, Pontiac, Buicks, etc at all. Ford is the biggest player of the big three, and even then they have models here that we will never see in Canada or the U.S.OK, I'll sign off before the wife gets mad, and re-post with pictures in a few weeks. I think you'll be interested in some of the cars I've seen.take care,Buzzman (A.K.A., Gus)

Yes, you're right, and I found out about that after I got here. I just didn't mention it in my first post. The new Holden that just came out is a beautiful car. GM should seriously bring it to North America. I think the platform is being used for the new Impala (not 100% sure), but I prefer the body style of the Holden down here. I'll take some pics of it for everybody. The other notable car here that you would like is the Ford Falcon (Haven't seen that name in 40 years). It's pretty nice. They also have an El Camino style Falcon that's really nice (and popular).I'll post one of those up too when I get back.I'm also surprised at the number of SUV`s down here. No snow or anything, but there are tons of 4 by 4`s.OK, time to go. The sun, pool, and cold beer is calling.Gus.

The Holden Commodore is/was the Pontiac G8 and the 2 door is/was the GTO the HSV Holden models are pretty damn cool. Hopefully they'll do up the Impala on the same chassis

It's funny how GM Australia can make consistently better cars that GM at home.

The Ford Falcons and Holden Commodore are better cars than are made here.

Definitely have fun in oz, don't drink fosters or they'll know you're a tourist (jk)

Half of my family lives there and all I can say is it's an awesome country

G'day mate...

Their V8 Supercars are also better than our NASCARS.

Just don't expect to get a Foster's there...even the Aussies don't claim that beer as theirs; maybe a XXXX though...

Have a great time.
