Hey all, I have a quick question. Got my upper harness back from wiring specialties and this ground was just sitting in the box next to the harness. It must have been in the harness when i sent it. Car is getting fuel but not firing. Here is a pic. If anyone knows where this goes that would be amazing.

Thanks a million

Okay, engine will start for a split second then die. How can I test the drop resistor? If I put my voltmeter on the center read wire, it should read 12v with just key on right?!

Thanks!

That doesn't look like it belongs in a ca18det harness. Two grounds that should be present on your harness are up on the intake behind the aacv and etc. There are two sets of wires there that go under 10mm bolts. Regarding your issue with no spark, one of these two grounds or several other things could cause that. Do you have the coil packs attached? Ignitor wired in? There is also a ground right by thr ignitor module.

I do have spark, and fuel pressure regulator. I believe that the injectors are not sending any fuel. I Sprayed some starting fluid and the car idled till it ran out, about 2 seconds. If the car sits for a long time it will run for one second. On the drop resistor, the 12v red wire that comes out of it. Should that wire read 12v with just key on?

As I stated to you before, that wire is of no relevance, so disregard it. Is your battery fully charged? If not, then it will cause this problem. If wire correctly, it should start right-up and should hold idle as well.

I just received the harness from Yuri at wiringspecialties, I got out the noid test kit and injectors have no power. I installed a different resistor box and the problem occurs. With the key on, the 12v power on the resistor box has no volts. Can I wire the 12v for the resistor box to get power from a different 12v key on source?

Dee, thanks for all the help again! I do appreciate it.

Okay, I called yuri and he had me test the big gray plug on the harness. The gray plug that is on the passenger side of the bay by the stock battery location. According to him, the red wire in there should be constant 12v with the key off. It has nothing, with key on or off. Where do I start to get this power? At ecu pin 59 I have power. Any clues?

Either you've blown a fuse &/ a fusible link in the fuse box by the battery, your ECCS relay isn't closing, or your Ignition relay isn't closing.

What injector resistor are you using? It isn't difficult to get power to your injectors, but when someone else does the wiring, it is extremely difficult to give you info without creating another problem. I'll give some advice to anyone else that reads this thred, when you're talking about paying someone to do a wiring job, pay someone who specializes in a particular application. This harness should have been tested on a live vehicle before being shipped back out to you; at least that's the way I do it. We'll try and help you bro, but you're going to have to figure out your injectors' power source on your own because the harness is no longer factory.

I'll bet money the ECCS relay isn't closing and most of the harness doesn't have power.

I figured it out, simply simply mistake. After I spent hours probing with the multimeter and scratching my head. 25amp engine control fuse was blown. Haha, sometimes I just miss the most obvious. Thank you all for your help!
