Hi folks, This isn't a direct Nissan/Infin. question, but I know there are some pretty sharp people who browse through here. Anyways, I put new auto-zone quality struts and springs on the front of my 90 accord(daily grocery getter), and the passenger side has been noisy as F)*@# ever since. Every single bump I go over, it screeches *really* bad. Almost as bad as ridin' around with low power steering fluid. It's been aligned since, no change. So my question is this: is there a quick way to isolate what is making so much noise? I removed the strut and 'tested' it by compressing it, letting it return, and it didn't make any noise. I'm assuming it is the bushing that are getting stressed more than normal. They all look 'normal' for a 14 year old car. Can I use graphite powder to lube them, or is that a no-no? I was told not to use oil, etc.

Thanks for any insite - it's driving me nuts.-Slip

My guess is bushings.Just a guess,...Old cracked bushings disturbed during install.

Using oil on those is just fine, dont it before with good success. Unless I missed a problem I was unaware of, but never saw any ill effects.

Ok, that's good to hear. Perhaps it was ball joints that you shouldn't lube with oil - I remember reading in rec.autos.makers.honda that you run the risk of them seperating. Either way, thanks for clearing that up - the auto store had some lithium grease they said was made specially for bushings.
