Please post this as a sticky. I think it would be very helpful!

Hey what’s up everyone. I’ve had my Pilot Motorsports short shifter for around 2 ½ years now. When I decided to swap in my sr I requested that the shop remove it from my ka and install it on the sr. When I got my car back I noticed that the shifter was loose :(

After further investigation I found out that the Pilot Motorsports Short Shifter is a 3 piece unit: The bottom part with the ball, a rubber bushing in the middle and the top part which is threaded for the shift knob.

I guess that the glue that held the rubber part to the lower part gave out when the shop removed the shifter and it broke off and became loose.

Instead of throwing it away I decided to try gluing it back together with Crazy Glue and low and behold, the shifter is just like brand new! :) A word of caution: If you have a shift knob that screws on be sure to align the top part correctly as Crazy Glue bonds VERY QUICKLY ;)

So, if any of you have the Pilot short shifter and it comes apart, don’t throw it away! This is the easiest fix I have ever done by far!
