i have a s14 with an rb20det in it. i put a mckinney downpipe on it with 3" piping all the way back to a megan racing n1 muffler. it turns heads but it also turns a lot of cop cars around. what would everybody suggest to quiet it down a little bit w/o losing flow and power.

Well I threw in an High flow cat to quiet mine down and get rid of stand still exhaust smell on clothes. (Megan racing type 2) Gave me a lot more pull on the mid range, no loss on top and was nice and quiet until wide open throttle. You can also replace the test pipe (assuming that's what you have) with a strait through resonator. They make the interior more comfortable too. Dynomax and hushpower have some short ones that you can get welded in no problem, cheap and they don't rob power like a CEO in the DOW.

i'd sudgest some kind of high quality resonated testpipe...with the apexi gt spec and that my s14 sounds like its barely running compared to my vh car which has 3 mufflers on it.

I run the HKS Hyper Exhaust with a High Flow cat and it sounds nice and deep and sexy! I hear all you lose is maybe 3-5 whp with a highflow cat. Its worth the less hassle from the popo

Quality exhaust, I had a Greddy Power Extream 2 on my S13 with 3" downpipe, no kitty and that exhaust system and it was quiet! very quiet.

I just have a 3" exhaust all the way to the rear bumper ,no cat or resnator. Sound great ,not realy to loud until you get over 5 grand.
