I'm planning out my winter projects and was hoping to include a dual MAF and Selin with full 2.5" piping as well. I want to put each filter in the cavity where the SMIC's went, but heard you aren't able to run recirc's after doing that. Theoretically I can just extend the outlet hose from the recirc to a flange I'd have to weld on to my new intake piping on each side, right?

Also, does anyone know if there's a notable difference between my suggested set up with a few less feet of intake piping, vs. the tradition DOOLZ intake configuration?

I just really like the idea of cooler intake temps (compared to how it is now with the filter directly behind my fmic lol), and I was thinking the intercooler slots in the fascia might give me a slight ram effect if set up correctly :gotme

What kind of intercooler do you plan to use (keeping your fmic?) what kind of fmic is it? I'd be more worried about excessive pressure drop from an inferior fmic rather than inlet temps if I were you.

Meant to save that post earlier somewhere else lol

It's an HKS style, vertical flow dealio. I was skeptical at first but it's been doing well. I've been running it for about 3 months and have no complaints other than the fact that it spools about 200-300 rpm later, but with the power it gave me I don't really care. The next intercooler I buy will hopefully be the Border FMIC or a custom one with a core from somewhere reputable.
