Hey guys, I use to get worried about my brake fluid boiling because my turbo/downpipe was 1/2 an inch away from my break hardlines that go into the master cylinder. Today I sovled that problem....I think and hope this should work. Pics...enjoy...up to a 1000degree heat resistant foil that i bought off of ebay for 25 bucks...more than enough.some heating and a/c ducts that i bought from lowes for like a buck or 2...

basically, i bent the folds (that's hold the mesh) back and then got enough room to stuff the foil stuff in there....then rebent the folds and just stuffed it inbetween the turbo/downpipe and master cylinder...

let me know what ya think...

gone

Looks good man, the vents on that ac/heater grill look like ultra custom cooling channels, good stuff.

where did you buy those?

I went to lowes, home depot, ace hardware but nobody sell it.

I used stock heat shield from Z31.

Go to the roofing department. I work at a local lumber yard and those are louvers. Very cheap. I have a sheet of aluminum that I cut from a roll and then bent it over mine as a heat shield. Works great.

man, this is great...i think it really works, because after i drove the car to my friend's house....I popped the hood and checked the master cylinder and it wasnt burning hot at all, a bit warm but i think that's normal....i could touch it with out burning my hand...

with heat wrap i can put my hand ON the turbine and it doesnt burn. just pretty warm..but obviously if left for a long time it will get hot. this idea looks like a good and cheap way though.

Good ideaBUTtry to prevent that tha heatshield touches the brake lines. Also, you can "wrap" the turbo with your custom heatshield covering the top too.

Nice, I have been using one that looks exactly like that for over 2 years...works amazingly well, despite not looking that good haha...after a hard drive, putting your hand over the turbo versus over the master cylinder, there's a HUGE temp difference...

nice stuff

it's touching but there's nothing i can do because it's wedged in there that's how it's just mounted...but i dont think the areas that touch wouldnt effect the brake parts at all...

i dont think I should wrap this stuff because it's not made to completely wrap a turbo or downpipe...
