Alright folks, I finally hooked up a boost gauge today. My question is, when I'm under full boost, the needle is fluttering-is it supposed to do that, or be steady at 7psi. (Sr20det). It just hovers around 5-7- but won't stand still???

Perhaps it just accurate and your not used to seeing an accurate display with fluctuation?

So are you saying that it shouldn't be a smooth movement, and sit at the point it's measuring? I just wasn't sure if I was have a boost leak or something that wasn't allowing it to stay constant. It's hard to dial in your boost, if your gauge doesn't stay consistently on a number to know where you're at to begin with.

Thanks for the help! I thought something was wrong. Have 5k miles on this swap, but just got around to installing the gauge, and didn't think that was normal. I see you have an 03 TB, I have an 04, it's been a good truck so far.

My gauge holds steady. It should not fluctuate under boost. Either you have an intermittent boost leak or your gauge is messed up, more likely it's the gauge.

My gauge sort of vibrates at the top end of boost if I hold it there. As far as climbing to and holding certain levels of boost, it should be pretty steady, but at the very top, it wiggles a bit like a fast vibration. What gauge are you running? I've got Autometer.

I don't believe it's the gauge, 'cause I can put a vacumm/pressure gauge on it, and it will hold steady @ 10psi. Must be a fluctuation in boost? I will have to do a boost leak detection I guess.
