I was at Harbor Freight yesterday looking for a palm buffer and I found a quick oil change valve.

It basically had a spring loaded ball valve (with cap) and a small hose that screwed onto the valve and applied pressure to the ball.

All made out of brass (minus the hose). I'm seriously thinking about installing this. Any words of wisdom before I do?

Noooo. It's great for changing your oil, but it's also a way for a tard to cause some problems with your car.

Don't!

The only way to change your oil.

I already have a composite replacement underbody tray in design with hinges instead of 80 million screws, but I thought this would make life easier in the interim.

I just bought an aluminum race jack!!! It's also low profile (3.54") so I think that means I HAVE TO get suspension lol.

Just my 2 cents on this one. While I think it is a great idea, I personally wonder what would happen if and when the springloaded valve starts to weaken from either the effect of excessive heat or from the effects of the autos natural vibration? Vibration, however small they are, is one of the many enemies of any spring loaded material to include shock absorbers. Secondly, it is likely that one may become oblivious of any weaknesses in the spring loading as it deteriorates.

I suspect that even a small weakness in the springloading (which might cause air to either leave or enter the oil chambers) as a result of multitude of reasons that can cause such failures, will certainly cause a change in the oil pressure, even if miniscule, which can, over time lead to some engine damage. What do you think about this? These are just my humble 2 cents on this.
