I have an SR redtop. I got the outer belt off, and i know how to remove the inner one which spins the alternator (which is the one i need to replace), but i can't figure out how to take the tension off the middle one. I saw a bolt which looks like a tensioner, and it's in back of a pulley which i can't see any purpose for other than to add tension, but even after loosening it i can't make it budge.

Also, is it a wise idea to replace all the belts after removing them due to stretching, or should i just replace the one that really needs it?

Thanks for any help.

1st yes its a good idea to replace all the belts just so you arent leap frogging through belt changes... as far as getting the ac belt off you need to loosen the bolt on the tensioner pulley and then loosen the actual tensioner bolt... hope that helps...

Thanks for the response. I got it off. I decided to only replace the one belt, being that they were about $20 each and my money is short right now... and anyway, i didn't really like the type of belts they had at the local store anyway (although i guess the brand and style of a belt doesn't matter much). But yeah, maybe i'll replace the other 2 in the near future.

Thanks.
