Quick Axle Question for 1993 Maxima

I have an easy question... I have already changed the passenger side axle in my 1993 Nissan Maxima and I'm about to do the drivers side.

My question is, I understand the drivers side axle has a small round circular clip that locks the axle (I don't see how) into the transmission and I'm wondering:

Do I need any special tools to pull this drivers side Axle out or can I just pull it strait out like I did with the passenger side?

Do I need any special tools to put the new Axle in with the clip or can I just shove it back in with the new clip?

You should be able to pop it back in the same as the other side.
