Who ever is selling this car, I'm sorry, but you're on crack.

http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/...t=642

1) its a used car2) all the parts, no matter how freaking awesome they are, are also used3) its a 1989 hatch, the most common s13 body on earth4) determining used market value does not mean taking KBB value (from which people take dealer asking prices and not private part values) and adding the cost of every little hunk of crap you've ever put on your car.

I'd say that car is worth, assuming it has a fully functional RB26DETT and AWD drivetrane swapped from a skyline GTR along with a pair of really expensive turbos, maybe $15,000.

you never know whats under the hood.

if it doesnt have a lot of stuff then its overpriced since the guy doesnt have a list of stuff to back up the price then i dont know myself either if its worth it or not. but a car is like a money hole. you can dump an endless supply of money in it and it can still look stock.

but if it has nice good fitment by the way that can be easily over 2k, car itself 2-3k, s13 aero conversion with a r32 style grill and the popular squares everyone seems to like for some reason = easily sell for over 1100, paint can vary also anywhere from nothing to 2-3k+ cant really see from the picture.

rb26dett powered car for under 15k is hard to come by. usually nobody swaps the motor and calls it a day. the "expensive" turbos itself can be over 4-5k, maybe a stock beat up 1989 240 with nothing in it besides the stock rb26dett swap.

i mean my 2nd hatch was about 3k. paint will be like 1-2k, wheels 2500, coilovers anywhere from 1-2k, and misc bars/arms/braces/rods is like 3k also. all that and not even breaking into the engine yet or interior. easily 12k+labor/tax/shipping and all that good stuff. it all depends on what the guy has under the hood. i could easily throw 50k into a car and it still wont look like its worth 50k

oh yeah and my friend's shop abcd in california had this rb26 powered s13 sold for like 47k or something. value of parts were over 60k+lots of labor, but they own a shop so they get hookups all over the place so they made some money.

It does have an RB25DET. The owner posts by the name of Boardman. He is crazy if he thinks he'll get that. There isn't much else besides an RB and the silvia front end (at least when I saw it last). Plus, IMO I wouldn't buy from him. Nothing personal, but he tried to sell his SR powered S13 before and my buddy tried to contact him over and over again offering the low asking price and then he decided he didn't want to sell. Then he ended up putting it up for sale again but with a higher price. It really pissed off my buddy. Boardman I wish you the best in selling your car bro, but unless you've done a lot more to the car since the last time I saw it, I'm not too sure you'll get the asking price or even close.

You never get back what you put in, but $15k is the highest anyone with a swapped s13 or s14 zenki can ask. Maybe 16-17k for a swapped kouki, but not much more than that. A used car is a used car, and a car like that could've been put together poorly if you look under the hood/test drive it.

The more and more money you put into a car like that, the less and less you are going to make back for each dollar spent. There are S14's with RB25's selling for way less than this dude is asking.

Im sorry, but there is no such thing as a 240sx worth over 25,000 tops in my opinion.

3K paint job? Ok Ill give you an extra $500$12,000 RB transplant? Ok, minus $1000 off the price of the car base for the stock motor, plus $6000 for the swap$1100 silvia conversion? OK, minus $400 for the stock front end, plus $600 for the silvia parts.

People dont think of these things: If you start with a $7000 S14 kouki, and take off every stock part worth a damn, well guess what, you can charge the buyer for the price of a stripped S14 kouki shell ($1500-2200 maybe?) plus all the parts you put on (50-65% of origional price).

That car is only worth $20,000 if it has a $11,000 gold brick in the trunk.

I'm pretty sure it only has a RB25DET but the owner has sunk alot of cash into it. It has been for sale almost a year. I'm pretty sure the price was lower a few week/months ago.

people pay absurd prices for cars all the time. I'm sure there's someone out there with a ton of money who will eventually stumble upon it and buy it.

If you're going to put that much money into a car and sell it, I wouldn't be too optimistic about getting anywhere close to what you would spend on it. I'd say the car's worth 7-8K and I think thats a bit high. It is listed as an All wheel drive too.
