ok as most of you know i have had problems with my car with not building boost..but i havent had any problems with it starting until now. the other day it just wouldnt crank...i pulled the coil and checked for fire..none...so i changed the ignitor chip and no fire...today i was going to pull codes on it and the ecu isnt giving me any flashes...like the lights arent lighting up at all so Im thinking the ecu went bad...any ideas?

Well, if the LEDs on the ecu aren't comming on, that means you have a blown fuse some where which powers the ecu or broken 12v wire that supply the ecu with power, but definitely check your fuses.

Look at the foldout pages on the fsm and find out which pins should have power on them when the ignition is on and off.

The ecu Led should turn on when the ignition is turn to the on position.

Good luck,

Check all electrical connections recheck ecu lights. If 12volts are at ecu and you still don't see the lights, replace your ecu. But before you put ignition to your new ecu, you must determine what caused the 1st ecu to fail. I'm going to bet on your ecu failing because of electrical mishaps.

i will check the fuses again...but they all looked good...I will go back and double check the electrical connections i did to see if that did it...I might have done something under the dash a while back when working on the standalone for it...will check that all out befor hooking a new ecu up

Is your ecu chipped? It cranks, but doesn't fire or is everything just dead?
