I have not been able to get my timing to 15degIts been between 0-5 (runs well) using digital timing gun with spark plug extender on the plug.

reads the same with the loop on the back of engine also

when i rotate the CAS Counter clockwise to get to 15 BTDC idles low and runs poorly

Here is the main q or (funny story)Brought it to this performance tuner in town - has quite a good reputation. My first visit. Waited almost hr (like a doctor's office) before car gets probed. Mechanic tells me its at 28 deg with similar dig timing light i have (snap on) and he says these SRs have dual spark so have to devide the number by 2 => 28/2=14 deg. im in the 15+/- 2 deg range im good to go so he charges me and off i go. So now im back to the same question i have before i biorught the car in to be probed

So is this true or the mechanic is like my exhaust pipe - blowing smoke

Are you disconnecting the TPS when you are checking it? It needs to be in base mode to get an accurate reading. I think the smoke is the answer to your final question. I have never hear that before. you may need to reset your base idle once you get the timing into spec.
