So we finished putting the engine back into the car last night and at the same time I put in the BC 264 cams and peak performance valve springs. The car ran pretty well in the beginning, but after few minutes, the car started getting some sort of knocking sound under the valve cover. We didnt know what to expect to happen. We wont have time to check it until monday. But I have heard people saying that we have to break in the cams after we install them. I am just wondering will that be the problem? and How am I supposed to break in the cams?

Thanks

so yeah...we took out the valve cover and let the car start just try to see where the noise comes from. and it sounds like from the timing chain and the tensioner. but we cant fine anything touching anything. is it might be the timing chain is too tight?

a tight tensioner won't let a rattle or knock sound happen. A loose tensioner will let the chain rattle a bit.

the chain is really tight now, but the sounds is coming from the chain and tensioner part. I dont know what is that
