lol, first you gotta put some nawzzzz stickers on it, one second lower E.T. for each sticker, lol

weights have been done, use search, big red button, and I dunno about removing sway bar, I heard something about it earlier in a recent thread, tho

i used the magical red button, and it told me nothing. this is what i gota guess that it's 100lbs heavier than the SRand Night saying that his car has a backwards weight distribution. -not exactly what i was looking for.....

oh and if anyone has pictures of the RB cylinder heads, i'd like to see.

So far no one on this forum has found or posted the exact RB weights, at least i don't think so. Dauntt was going to weigh one when his first shipment arrived but thats a whole different story. Night did corner weigh his car before and after the install, but i think he accidentally switched the front and back weights when he listed them on his website. Basically wieght isn't much of an issue...

What about the sway bars and the cylinder head? doesn't the RB26 have IRTBs?

You can find a lot with http://www.google.com about weights and whatnot...

As far as going 8's...

go for a well built RB (25 or 26 most likely), have nothing in the car (and hold off on the fast food and soft drinks), replace the windows with lexan, well built trans (hear the 20... not sure on the other two trans go at 400hp... look around and i'm sure you'll find out), and a well thought out gearing.

I am sure by the time you get here you are well past 4k... so I'd say this...

Get a cheap 240, strip the car... drop a pushrod V8 in er w/ a used blower, throw a 200 shot on it, and back it up with a 8.8 rear end with a posi diff... you'll hit 10's maybe... and just barely get under your 4k limit... maybe.

Granted... at this point you have defaced the Nissan name... but like many other cars I don't like... it's not mine.

Good luck bud

it's much different on a 13 than it is a 14 first off.

the front swaybar does hit on a 13.

Ummm, nigth has a 25 in a S13 I think he would know whether the sway bar fits or not....

I thought manufacturers weighed the car with a full tank and even added weight for pasengers, but who knows? What did you use to weigh it?

I imagine the simple fact that the chassis codes are different would make it a feasible idea that the swap would be more difficult. Can't we all just not argue? Someone do the effin' swap and find out.

He also used the R33 subframe, not the R32.

And every set of corner weight numbers for a 240SX that I have seen (from reliable sources) have listed it as front heavy (56/46 or so).

So you were talking about using something other than an R33 subframe? Which subframe are you referring to? 32?

Siddhartha, I'm flattered; thanks.:) I was just trying to be thorough being that an RB swap may be in my future. I'd rather ask then assume.

Don't worry about miss Projekt though...he's a friend of mine. Sometimes, when he speaks to people, a bug or something else will bite him in the arse. I don't know where they come from...but if you ask me, I think it's b/c he doesn't bathe regularly.:toilet

Well don't use the R32 subframe and you don't have to worry about the sway bar fitting...

Night

I know I'm kinda bringing this thread up from the dead, but I'm in the process of swapping an RB20DET into my 90 240.

Anyway, right now my swaybar is hitting the oil pan and I used the R32 crossmember. I've added 3/8" of spacers so far to push the swaybar down some and it is still hitting. However, the brackets that attach it to the frame will tighten down now.

I was wondering if someone had some suggestions on how to fix this? I was thinking of just grinding down the backside of the swaybar where it hits the oil pan but that seems like a pretty ghetto fix.

well as dennis has stated before and i believe aswell. this is where mounts are needed. or an rb25 oil pan may ,i say may, give you just enuff to sqeek by. but i'm not 100% sure.

or you can just beat the crap out of the oil pan.....(i don't recomend)

your call on that one tho....and i have completed this swap before;) .

edit:oh and night isn't that a 25 not a 20 i think thats what they were asking to see ,except inside a head.

How much would a custom mount run......

What are the effects of removing the sway bar AND

when I do my swap (hopefully next week), we were thinking of covering the sway bar with that stuff you use to insulate pipes...that....****...I cant think of the name
