So my shell came with two rb25s. One assembled one disassembled partially ( head was just sitting on block but not bolted in , crank removed, pisons n rods are still assembled inside block but drip pan is removed as well and all manifolds and turbo ect. My question is with crank removed there is some rust (obviously) but not pitted.
* Is it okay to lightly remove it or should all this be done in a machine shop?
*What all must be inspected or rather extra attention due to sitting unassembled, and what extra maintenance should I be expecting other than assembly?
* just wondering what all must be done to remove rust ect from internals and what inspections can be done at home vs you suggest a shop. I work on acft so I am no stranger to TMDE or calibrated insp. Tools.
Ty for your time!

Also, I would like to add that I did grease most of it to prevent further corrosion as well as ensure to stand up the crank shaft...---- crankshaft is my biggest worry as it has some rust as well as I'm sure now it needs balanced or something as well as cleaned to ensure no warpage ect.

WD40 wrap it up good then when ready take it to machine shop for a good cleaning and polish and what ever else you plan to do.
