sorry i know this was posted before and i found what i needed but i looked for it again and i cant find it now. my questions...

- how to change brake pedal from the auto and manual assembly

- wiring to get the car thinking its always in park

**

i have looked under the pedals and it looks like there is a cotter pin on the side. and apparently the top portion slips into something else. i dont want to remove my master brake master cylinder. should i drop the steering column?

i found a plug under the fuse box. i think i remmeber reading that the wires were white and black. mine are not those colors. it is 2 prong and they are medium sized wires. not too thick. see.. i dont know wat is thick to you guys or wat is thin. to me it seems triple the regular thin wire we see inside computers.

let me know and thanx in advance.

oh and one more thing. i have a manual ecu- should i just put that in so i wont throw code with the auto one. or have rough idle in the cold weather? i still know i have to jumper those 2 wires together. and because of complications i dont think i will wire up the nuetral position now the over drive sensor or the reverse light. too bad i wasted money buying brand new ones from the dealer. any suggestions or comments on this?

You can use the automatic ECU with a manual.

The two wires you jump together are behind the fuse box in the engine compartment on the passenger side. It is the forth plug down, and has a black and white wire going into it. Im pretty sure the colors stayed the same. Cut them after the plug and use a 12ga. butt connecter to jumper them.

I didn't change the brake pedal. Take the rubber cover off and saw off the one side so the clutch pedal will fit next to it. You don't have to, but I got some Sparco pedal covers to cover up the ugly sawed off one.

If you want to change the pedal, find a FSM and it will tell you how to take the pedal off.

thanx- i think i figured it out now. it took so long to get a response that i looked it up for a few more hours..i think i read ur post on a thread a while back about cutting the pedals and covering them up with sparco ones. anyway see you around. thanx again ur the only one that responded.

i guess people are already tired out of answering the auto to manual threads.

it looks like though that my wires have a strip in them. they are not just 1 tone black and white. is this the wrong one?

If they have a stripe they are probably going to the wrong plug...

Do you have an s13 or s14?

I am 99.9% sure the wiring is the same, but Im far from perfect so I may be wrong. I think you may be looking at the third plug down, you can't see the forth plug unless you unplug the top three.

If you look again and are sure there are no black and white wires, I wouldn't just starting jumping wires hoping they work. ka24development.com has a writeup on how to do the wiring on an s14 (with pics) so check that out. I used the writeup tenkawa akito (sorry if I butchered your name, lol) did in the 'vert forum, and it has pics of all the wires.

n_bogie, there is a template stamped onto the firewall that shows where to cut and drill to install the clutch pedal/master cylinder. You have to pull some black plastic off around it to make it fit.

i have a s13 model. i unplugged the top 3. no sign of a 4th one. what to do? btw...another problem i ran into. i was changing the brake pedal out to the manual one. the people who said that it bolts right up are liars. it might on the s14 but i ended up ripping up my interior because it didnt fit. ON S13 YOU NEED TO HAVE THE BRAKE PEDAL BRACKET /W PEDAL. for all of you mis leading mfs. i spent so much time yesterday and sweat under that damn steering wheel with a hot light near my face trying to figure out wat tha hell is going on. anyway enough venting. i havent tried the brake pedla bracket cause i have to make another trip to the junkyard. but man...i keep thinking to myself...may be i should have just cut the brake pedal down to size like you 1991s13....

It might be the easy way out, but it saved a lot of headaches. Looks nice and clean too

About the plugs, I am stumped. To find my forth plug I just took the cover off the fuse box, unplugged the three top plugs, and the two wire plug at the bottom was right there, tucked underneath the other too. Sorry I can't help, but it's beyond me.

there are 2 grey plugs on top- the 3rd one is a brown one. after that there is nothing. the plug i was about to splice is on 2 connecter thing tied in with the battery harness wires. it was tucked underneath everything. the problem is...the black has a white stripe in it...

does anyone know if the jdm s13 pedals are the same for the US one? cause i think thats wats messing me up..

is the us clutch pedal curved down? is the brake pedal curved down too? man...
