Hi everybody, I just bought a 04 g35 today, so I official joined the g35 club. I love the crap out of that car. There are some issue with the car that I would like to get some opinions from you guys, so i can pin point or get a general idea about it. The problem is the car is fine when i start it, but after a few minutes, I starting to hear a gurgling sound when i tap on the gas, but if i give it a good step, then the noise go away, It will come back again when i slow down to about 30-20 mph as well. There is no warranty on this car, so pretty much, i have to take care of it myself. Can anybody give me any idea for what problem it might be? I hope it's not a major issue. Thanks again, and have a nice day.

Congrats on the new to you classic G, and welcome to Nico.

If your Check Engine Light is one, that I would highly suspect a failing throttle position sensor, this requires replacement of the throttle assembly. However I really think you are more likely looking at either a faulty Mass Airflow Sensor or a loose connection somewhere in the air intake after the mass airflow sensor.

That would be the first thing I would check and if you have and stored codes if you could provide them we can help you out a little more.

Nico has a section dedicated to the G35 please feel free to check it out. http://forums.g35club.org/

thanks for the reply steve. I think I kind of resolved the issue by doing oil change. Everything is good now. I guess the previous owner didn't take good care of that car, and the oil in the engine is all mud color. That was a very stressful experience, lol. I changed the oil and air filter so far, do you know what else I can replace or check to maintain the car at its best condition? Thank you very much .

I would try to start fresh with all new fluids using the recommended fluids. Check out the G35 Engine section for some great information on the proper care for your G. Since you have a neglected car and it will take a fair amount of TLC to make it right. Anything you can replace I advise you to go ahead and do it with the best replacement you can afford.

that's right. I assume your TLC means: tenders of love. anyways, so your suggestion is to change all the fluids in the car? I checked all the fluid levels and cleanness. they look fine. Is there anything else to change?

The best advice any new Infiniti owner can get is an honest assessment from an Infiniti specialist. If you are willing to pay a minimum diagnostic charge in some cases to have your car professionally evaluated, they will give you a thorough run down of what is actually up with your car. I would love to be able to tell you exactly what you will and may need to keep your G running like new, the sad truth is that each car is unique in its care and maintenance and only someone looking it over with the knowledge of what to look for can evaluate it professionally.

You may want to think about calling your local dealers and see what the going rate for a full check over.
