OK GUYS, Thanks for the info. re HID install.some Q's re: HID that came up when I read the posts and looked on the net sights. 1. What is the difference between H9 and H11 ? is the H for HID and the # 9 for 3K and /or H11 =5000?2. What does the above mean?3. I read that the Bulbs are not exactly plug and play. what do I buy to make it the easiest to install on a 2004 altima SL?4. Read that 8000 will give U the Blues, lol. so I'm leaning towards 5000however, 6000 seem better than 5000, since it will give U Ultra white light.5. I'm passed the stage of "mod ing up the ride". I'm getting them to help in seeing better in the night. Getting older, LOL. Just don't like the lighting on my 2004 Altima SL. tougher to see than my Limo ride, NOT.6. read that $100 to $150. are low end Quality products, $150. to $199. mid-range and $200.00+ are high and Quality procucts. What are your thoughts. MC C , Xen, ect. what are U guys thoughts on them? Thanks for sharing your Knowledge E-mails will now go through but [email protected] if all else fails Also, I hang in Harrisburg, PA

H9 and H11 are different bulb types. The headlights use H11 and the fogs are H9 on the 07+ models. Most factory HID's use 4300K, I got an aftermarket 5000K which in my opinion, looks better. It's a bright white, not that blue stuff. Actually the lower the K rating, the more light output you get. 5000K>7000K. The higher up the K rating you go, the more blue the light will be and output is less. I'm using an X-Light kit which is of pretty good build quality. I'd just stick to the generic brands because you can find them under $100. If they happen to break, you don't lose out on much. I haven't had any problems with mine so far though.

Here's a link to a how-to I did a while back: zerothread/293744

Correction, the fogs are H11, just like the headlights in the +07 models

Your highbeams will still be your old halogens unless you change them out. I didn't so my headlights are 5000K and my highs are the stock ugly yellow.

I got my X-Light from a local distributor, but I know someone was selling them on ebay. Xentec is also another popular generic brand which can be found on ebay also. Look to spend around $80-$100 for a generic set.
