Im plan on buying a 1995 nissan 240sx next month. I have a 1989 240sx hatch right now but it has been sitting for 3 years and needs some work. So for my 95 240, i was planning on going for the blacktop s13 sr20det but after i added evrything up including intercooler, clutch, exhaust, downpipe, battery, and installation it came to $5,500. and thats only for 230 rwhp. Now i was on boostdesigns.com and looking at stage 2 turbo kit, there own 3 in exhaust, and greddy emanage, all for about $3,400. Thats all i want is about 300hp at the wheels. So my questions are how much power can a ka24de handle? What if i buy one with 160k miles on engine? And how much would it cost for installation and tuning? Would it be reliable, this will be my daily driver?

your on the right track with the BD kit and the KA will handle your 300hp.....160k is fine but just do a compression tests and you'll want around 170-180psi....it can be a little lower but dont let it get to low....

installation cost?? there is no installation cost because you've come to NICO...we all can help you out on that part and it's a lot of fun.

yes its reliable but many things can happen...asking is it reliable is like asking are you smart....if your smart about it...it will be reliable

The question on how many miles can be answered by doing a compression test. Nissan recommends no lower then 151 and no more then 14 difference between cylinders. So if you are close to 151 you might want to consider rebuilding before installing the kit. How much a KA can handle depends on how well it is tune and what kind of shape it is in. I think this question gets answered at least once a week.

now lets say i ony wanna push about 260 rwhp, can i keep the stock clutch in untill it goes? When i was looking on BD i saw that they have an ecu for $600 that helps out alot with tuning, but i just wanted to know how much will it cost to tune it properly?

you can keep the stock clutch in until it goes but it will die quite quickly with 260rwhp so it would probably be better to replace it while you are doing the turbo kit. also, is it still on the stock clutch? if so, it is probably about died anyway

with the enthalpy ECU you are referring too you do not need any tuning...it has already been tuned for you...you would need the z32 MAF and the injectors it's tuned for though. with the ecu you do not need an e-manage

yes you can keep the stock clutch till it shatters but im pretty sure it will..lol

british...seriously you can do the installation yourself..

i rather have a person ask a simple question like what does the turbo connect to...instead of someone asking can KA handle boost

were here for a reason

Check out http://www.ka24development.com brian is running a stock KA with 300whp(298, close enough). Maybe that site can help out some, it seems pretty close to what you are going for(300hp, clutch, installs....)

aight, im pretty sure on what im getting now because of u guys. thanks

I plan on gettingm these..

boost designs stage 2 turbo kit- $2,600enthalpy s14 performance ecu ( pretty sure it comes with z32 mafs)-$600Boost designs 3 in exhaust system-$400.00Greddy profec bGreddy type rs BOV

I'll leave in stock clutch until it goes, and i will keep this at about 8-9 psi, because i will be running stock internals. I have heard that the ka-t with over 10psi on stock internals usually dosent last. And then installation, this should give me about 250whp, until i build up bottom end. I think thats right

I don't know if this is the right place, but better than starting a n00b thread. Not trying to hijack this one though!

I've got a '91 hatch and am almost done fixing up the suspension. I was looking at the BD turbo kit, any stage, but have 220k miles. I was thinking a rebuild with nicer internals and having the turbo installed about the same time. Problem is, everything else behind the engine would be stock.

About how much power could an auto transmission, diffy and everything else back there take? Would this be too much power for it?

It might help if you start a new thread. The diff can handle it but you want to swap it out with a LSD the cheapest route is a LSD from a 240 or a J30 95 or 96 a direct swap. Auto Transmissions I haven`t heard any problems but I really don`t know. Depending on what kit you get you will be in the 200 rwhp up to 300rwhp.
