Ok so I'm sitting here doing my weekend reading (looking at threads I find interesting here) and seen a few people have gotten the transgo shift kit my question is who has it how do you like it was it easy enough for you to install or did you have someone do it ? Is there a part number that someone can give me so I can look it up and do research and did it kill your gas mileage and last but not least is their a lightweight flywheel to go with this or is that something that anyone would even want to do thanks in advance I got most of my build planned except for this part lol the shopping lists are long and getting more expensive thanks everyone

Our cars are automatic. Automatics don't have flywheels they are called flexplates.

Why? You want something lighter? I don't see that advantage on an automatic. If anything it may mean you'll need different viscous oil.

This is my first build on this vehicle so I'm still learning things about it just going off things that have been done before

Best thing to do for your M is:
- intake. I suggest the stillen z tube.
- exhaust. Either custom cat back or Megan. 2.5" diameter pipes.
- if you're handy take the manifolds off and port/polish the runners
- get the motor dyne intake plenum spacer and while you're in there port and polish the lower manifold
- uprev'd engine and transmission tweaks
- get lowering springs or a combo shocks/struts springs
- maybe some wheels
- some guys bought the sport lower body panels
- and lastly a bbk.

Transgo shift kit:
Easy to install if you have a drill press (have to drill out 3 or so passages in the separator plate).
No change in mileage as it just firms and quicken up the shifts.
Keeps trans fluid a bit cooler.
Even with the stock torque management map in the ECU the car will usually chirp 2nd gear if you get on it.
Zero advantage to doing anything with the flex plate and would be far more involved to change (removal of transmission or engine).
