i am currently driving a 91 240sx. i was planning to swap the engine because it is at high kms and i think the engine maybe should have about a year left on it. but besides that, i was wondering what other components do people put into their car with the swap. for example exhaust. friends have also told me to fix my suspension as well. if anyone one could tell me what they have put into their car while the sr20 swap was going in that would be a big help. And if anybody has a recommendation for the extra things you put in and the brand, that would be really helpful. thank you .

Nothing really has to be added, the SR20DET came stock in some cars, therefore they are good to go in terms of running, the wiring harness maybe something that would require you to look into.

But other than that, suspension means nothing in terms of swapping an engine? I'm not sure what your pals were talking about.

Consider installing a 3" exhaust system and an FMIC.

boost gauge and fuel pump would be a good idea too. and maybe a turbo timer.

Recently finishing a SR swap. These are parts I’d recommend replacing when performing the initial swap. (Please note that I have not included the intake side since this area is not prone to high heat or PSI stress with factory parts.) If an aftermarket turbo was used on the engine, the intake side should be addressed as well since gaskets may have become weak(sauce) from additional stress. The exhaust side is really abused after time even with factory setup due to the high temps of daily operation. Upon my last SR install, we found that most of the exhaust side was loose because of high heat stress and gasket material "settle" or compression. Please keep in mind this engine seemed completely factory with only reg maint. performed...

not listed in order of importance. feel free to include experienced comments pls.
