Hello guys,

I'm new to the forum and am in the market for a used g35 coupe. I am looking to buy something in the 18-20k range and would like nothing older than a 2004 model...perhaps a 2005-2006 model.Generally speaking, in this price range, how many miles should I expect to get on a used car? Do I strictly go by KBB for this info? How much can I negotiate with dealers on a car like this, especially taking into consideration that they are not very fuel efficient and gas prices are on the rise.I've never used Carfax before.....do you guys recommend it? How does it work? Is it a reliable source on all vehicles' history?

One last question.....there are no Infiniti dealerships where I live....the closest one is 150 miles away in San Antonio, Texas. If I would need it serviced and it no longer has warranty where would you recommend I take it? Do I find a reliable, local private mechanic? Drive the 150 miles for service? I've heard Nissan dealerships also work on Infinitis....?

I'm a newbie so I apologize if any of these questions are dumb in nature....thanks!

Welcome to Nico,

Not sure if you can buy or not in that price range an 05+. I live in Canada and our price on the cars are different then in the states. Soon someone will chime in and give you a little better view for sure.

Most of the time the Nissan dealer can take care of your Infiniti. They are cheaper too.

Carfax is a must. Also would be a good idea to get a mechanic inspect it for you before buying.

Good luck with your car shoping.

A 05 G Coupe for under 20k? Sign me up! Anyway, I asked a very similar question just now and I didn't see your post. Must be too sleepy tonight.

you might be able to find something in that range if you do some good shopping...

carfax is a must.

nissan should be able to do work for you (cheaper than infiniti but still a dealer)

parts are not cheap like american parts, but they aren't as bad as bmw/audi parts

Welcome to NicoCheck KBB.Com for pricing questions, and look through on line car sales tools to get a better idea what cars are selling for.

Nissan can service the Infiniti, however, they may not be able to do warranty work. Gs are pretty reliable as they come so that may not be an issue.

Welcome! Like Bob mentioned, KBB is a good estimate of what the pricing will be on any car...but you can find deals if you look hard enough. I'd get an 05+ as the 03-04's have a few issues, specifically with the stereo/AC.

Call the Nissan dealer...they may be able to do the warranty work.

Just be careful. Make sure you do Carfax.
