Hello All,

I recently purchased a 1993 convertible. I was spoiled with my last vehicle that had navigation, bluetooth, SAT, ect. What I would like to do is install a new aftermarket head unit in this car. Originially I wanted to install a double DIN Pioneer AVIC series but have changed my mind for a few reasons: I hear it requires alot of modificatioon to fit and to screams "steal me" in a convertible. So now I have decided on a fold out screen such as the Clarion NZ500, Kenwood KVT-514 or Pioneer AVH-P5200BT. I know Crutchfield and most other sites say these models will not fit in this car. I have searched the threads on here and other forums and read people say it false but nobody said they had installed them. What I would like to know is has anyone here installed a flip out monitor HU? Did it fit without "major" modifications? Where did you hide all the modules such as NAV, BT, SAT Radio? Can anyone post pictures if they have or a link to where pictures are? A long message I know but I wanted to be clear on what I am trying to do. Thank you all for your assistance. This is a great forum with alot of knoweldge.

Rob

I have the Kenwood flip out in my N/A and it fit with absolutely no modifications whatsoever. It was basically like swapping out any other head unit. Wiring harness, ground, ect. Only difference is that there are more input wires. Not harder, just more time consuming. But to answer your question, yes, it fit with no modification.
