Hello everybody just have a few questions concerning the eibach springs..

1) I have no experience what so ever with cars or working on them n my dad has little experience do you recommend that we install ourselves?

2)If not how much does it run to install springs at a shop im quoted 3 shops around my area and they want $500+ is that reasonable ? or too much ?

i just recieved the springs this week and i want to put them on asap!!

please let me no what you think thanks

1. If you have NO EXPERIENCE whatsoever, I would suggest that you leave it to the pros. Others will differ in their opinion, but that's my .02.

2. Wow. 500+ to install the springs is highway robbery. I paid 120 to install and felt that was a little too much. Find somewhere else ASAP.

Thanks mann just going to stick to the original plan and just go to the shops but I thought for sure that price was way too high... have to start looking for more shops.

It's really easy. Save yourself $500 and get the next mod.

The springs are pretty hard to compress. My shop charged an hour of labor for the install: $35~45. Shouldn't pay more than two hours worth of labor.

$500 means they didn't want to do it.. or they thought you were a rube..

Either way, find someone willing to do it, and perhaps someone who HAS done similar installs, no sense in paying for some shops learning curve..

That being said, I know we charge a couple hours labor tops.. (not at the office.. but I can check on the rate with our service manager monday if that helps)

Also, I get that you can rent the autozone spring compressors like the install article, but those are honestly sketchy as hell. I'm not saying don't do your own install, we love to see folks do the DIY.. but that style of spring compressor left in the hands of someone new can equal REAL disaster..

You're compressing steel springs made to rebound with some weird tongues on a threaded stick.. and the only failsafe is catastrophy..
