I am going to order some hyper white bulbs to put in back of my gauge cluster so I can actually see it at night. I have 2 basic questions.

1. Do I only need to replace the 3 main bulbs for it to be nice and bright? In other words, If I change out the others (mainly the big ones in the very far corners) will it make a difference compared to just the main three?

2. All three have this little plastic blue cover (example in the attached pic), do I need this after I change to hyper white bulbs? What is it's use?

Sorry for the dumb questions But I just don't know.

maybe consider trying to just remove those covers and then see if you liek the results.

i removed mine when i made my own gauge faces and the brightness improvement was incredible

additonally have you tried adjusting the brightness with the switch?

Yeah I have. Turned all the way up, I still have to squint to see them. It really sucks. My concern is if the blue plastic things are for heat protection.

i see....

because the lights just shine directly onto the clear plastic peices that transfer the light to the different things, similar to a fiber optic cable. I wonder how hot they can get before they start to burn

then again which do you think can handle more heat, the little plastic caps or a much thinker piece of solid acyrilc or plastic, whatever it is.

all i got for you is, mine are still just fine, maybe you should just try removing the blue things and see how you like it

all u really need is the 3 main bulbs. U dont have to have that condom on it either i believe. If u dont replace the 2 on the bottom corners, those parts wont be as bright. Not sure if itll matter to u or not.

Well I peered inside the whole for the corner ones, and it looks like they are just for the battery light, and the gas light. Why not the little one like all the other indicator lights? I might as well put in some brighter ones however. I guess it won't hurt. When I do I'll post of some pics for people to see the difference (My friend Johnny did this with his rps13, and it looked very nice).

Yeah. Everyone has it down In Cali. I've had it for almost 2 years now. Since then I have seen it almost everywhere. It's still nice though, that's why I keep it up.
