Questions Bout Ca18det Front clip

In the next couple months im going to purchase a ca18det front clip and swap it into a 89 240sx. Here are my questions.

1. What ignition system does the ca have?

2.Is there need for new p/s lines? the swap is goin into a 89 240?

3. Do the motor mounts line up with the old mounts?

4. Where do i go bout doing the wiring, If i can would i be able to do it with my friend?

Ugh, I can't believe I'm getting roped into doing this, but I'm going to be the brains behind this operation, except for the wiring, you are on your own.

Anyway, I'm going to make him replace the F + R main seals, and the thermostat, can those be gotten off of a NX or Pulsar or whatever it is that interchanges? What about the water pump?Does the CA18's o2 extension have the AIV fitting that needs to be removed, like the SR20?

EDIT: Does he also need to swap out the tach from the CA18 clip into his cluster, it's an 89.

are you performing the swap with him ???i talked to him on AIM for a little bit tring to answer a few of the questions

Ca18det has a direct fire ignition system... an ignitor chip, four coil packs and a relay in between somewhere small very effiecent.

the power steering in teh 89-90 was set up differantly then 91 an up... im not sure but i think from what i read a long time ago you can get a way with remounting the resevoir an taking the high pressure lines from the 91nup and puting them on the 89-90 system... im not sure yet i am doing mine on a 90 if i dont find another shell soon..

yes motor mounts are the same for nearly every motor that nissan made thatll fit in that engine bay..

yes the wiring isnt much more then cutting an splicing a few wires into the main harness for things like speedo/tach(not completely sure about the previous statements truth) . the harness i think can be taken out of the car through the firewall not sure but hey the idiots at the shop i got mine from figured it out im sure any one above the 8th grade level an have done at least 2-3 radio installs should be able to figure it out ...

why replace somthing that isnt bad ???? and yes the seals should be the same as the Ca18det.the thermosat, water pump, all should be samethe only thing i saw on my down pipe is the O2 sensor no plugs or open holes... ill look again soon though..yes the tach will need to be updated to either JDM or a 91nup it needs a tach from a dual cam motor....

well guys did i answer these right.... all you with alittle more experience with the motors?
