what are the major differences in the years?

were any of the models bad apples? that had a lot of problems and such

how long do the engine/tranny typically last?

what year is the one that has passenger foot rests? lol i think thats so neat

are the parts interchangeable between japan and us version? without modification? such as body kits, interior panels (except the rhd stuff i know).

any information would be much appreciated. thanks in advance

I can at least say based on what I've heard on NICO that they're bulletproof, easy to maintain, and easy to drive. The electronic suspension in later years can be expensive to replace. None are "bad apples" in any way. They're pretty straightforward, mechanically honest cars.

Kevin could probably say more on JDM parts.

Yes, there were considerable running changes to especially the 1999-2000 models. 2001 models were essentially the same as 2001 with the ae interior becoming standard.

There is a previous post by me that details the changes.

The differences were made in 99, including revised tail lights (deleted the inner lights on trunk lid), movable rear seat head rests, return of the oval clock, body color lower trim. I think that's it, oh, the T now came with electronicly controlled sport / comfort shocks.

No bad apples.

Very long.

I think it's the current Q that had available passenger foot rests (the rear seats recline, etc.)

Parts are the same on US, JDM models, besides front and rear bumpers, so body kit's which are lips, won't fit. Full body kit's which have complete bumpers will.

The crash tests weren't dismal, but they did improve the side air bag's in later models.

Most of the updates from 1999 and 2000 were safety and structure related with some comfort and convenience thrown in.

The test results I saw gave it good frontal impact results, but so-so side impact results.

I have it, all it is is motorized adjustable shock valving. I can't tell a difference between the two settings, and if it stopped working it wouldn't matter. Having the touring package is great in my opinion....Billy

He's on the VIP boards, so I guarantee he want's to drop it, in which case the stock suspension is a moot point. Good luck whatever you get dude, and if you get one, I'm sure you'll love it as much as I do.
