I am about to do a rb26dett swap, will actually a shop is going to do it for me. I want an r33 rb26dett but the shop mechanic is telling me that the r32 is fine. He said if i dont plan on running more than 600whp the problems with the oil pump collar won’t be a problem. I just wanted to get advice from the guys who have done rb26dett swaps using a r32 engine if the mechanic is right. The shop is cool cat racing in georgia just in case anybody wanted to know.

Are they providing the R32 Rb26? If not, then I would find a R33 to buy before having the swap done.

If they are providing the motor, I would use the R32 crank /oil pump issue as a bargining chip. Tell them to lower the price because of that reason, or tell them to qaruntee it that it won't fail and destroy the motor, or... tell them when they can provide a R33, you will pay them to install it...
