I'm pretty much a noob dealing with nissans. I plan on converting my 240 to a rhd since i did it with my integra. well here are some questions i need to ask

1. can i use a rb25 or 26 f/c to do a rhd conversion or do i need to get a 180sx f/c

2. by having a rhd 240, will be able to use both turbos on the rb26dett

3. Honest opinion- is it worth getting a rb26dett f/c for 2500 (from my cousin r33 skyline) with all the hassle to install it or get a rb25det f/c for 4000 with less difficulty to install

4. whats a trusted company to buy parts from to install the engine

5. do i need to buy parts if i increase the boost like a head gasket or anything else

6. what extra parts would i need to install a rb26dett

thats all the question i need to ask now. Im trying to get all the extra parts I need before getting the f/c. My cousin and his uncle are going to help me out with this swap since they have godly knowledge about skylines but know nothing about 240sx. thanks for the help.

Many of times has this been asked. Research. You need a S13 clip to do the RHD conversion. To get the RB26DETT to work with you'll need a mount kit from McKinneyMotorsports. They make a kit so you can use the TT's with a LHD but since you don't have a steering column on that side you shouldn't have anything to worry about. You'll need a custom drive shaft, you'll need an RB25DET transmission, and others. i don't necessarly think that the 26 is more difficult because of the TT's. I think it's more difficult because of the cost and sourcing out the individual parts. Sounds to like you have a project on your hands.

Dude.. SEARCH.

If you can get a GOOD RB26 for 2500, you should do that. Hopefully it's not crap though, because that's a VERY low price for a 26 clip.

you will not need to get the McKinney motor mount kit. The only reason the McKinney motor mount kit is used is becuase first the steering rack hitting the twins dp's and secondly people either don't know anyone that can fabricate or doesn't want to go through the hastle of making a custom dp to work. If you have a RHD converson the steering rack will be located on intake side and you will not run into that issue. Just use the stock R33 cross-member and make a custom down pipe. I am doing the RB26 twins and exhuast manifolds on my RB25 which has the stock R33 cross-member and mounts and I will make the twins work, just need to make a custom down pipe for them.

People that do the RB26 just think the only way of doing it and making it work is with the McKinney kit. Just like those that do the RB25 swap, they normally get the McKinney kit also. That is a total waste of money to me. The R33 cross works great, just will some times rub against the steering shaft, but there are ways to easily fix that.

I am doing the RB26 twins on my RB25 (with the stock R33 cross-member and mounts) and using the stock turbo manifolds with an adapter stud plate. I have looked and it will work, just would have to make your own down pipe. Going to be some what of a tight squize, but will work. What would need to be done with a LHD 240sx would be to keep the front turbos elbow on there and take off the back turbos elbow. You would have to build the down pipe to the front turbo elbow and also to shift around the steering rack a little and bolt back onto rear turbo itself. I have not done it yet, but will be over the winter.

With the RHD you will have no issues with the steering rack and down pipe. I actually wouldn't be suprised if you could make the stock down pipe to work like you can on the RB25.

Go for it man, that would be a great project. Nice to see you trying out a Nissan. Got any pictures of you honda?
