questions about stock stereo (y34)

I am pretty sure it that the answer is no, but does the stock stereo play MP3's.

Second, what are the possiblities of taking the CD changer from an '04 and putting it in the dash where the '03 cassette goes. yes it would take some wiring to change it over. I could do without the cassette and just pull all the wiring from the glove box into the center basicly. My main question is will the CD player fit into the same opening as the cassette without cutting or anything major.

I am getting ready to buy/looking now and wanting an '04 because of the location of the CD changer but due to my wants for options and such it makes an '04 harder to find. If I can just get on '04 CD changer and put it in an '03 I am set.

Are there any other differences between the two years.

I would say it should work. They are nearly identical

I have thought and looked into doing this. The cost of the 04 CD player is high. Keep us informed on your results. 03 CD played will not play Mp3.
