I am trying to find the best deal on a mitsubushi evolution SE in wicked white. When I am happy with the numbers I will be parting with my altima coupe. I have a 2.5s conv package with 37,500 miles. Kelly blue book says private party is around $17500... I am going to try and sell it privately for $18k with all the mods intact. What do you guys think?

1) anyone interested in parts that I should let them know (19" nismo wheels gunmetal, cmod ) only easy stuff to remove
2) You think $18k is a reasonable price?

Buyers will be looking for a 100% stock car. Mods do not increase the value, no matter what it is unless you get someone in the same market and everything is covered. The reason being is because they will think the car was driven hard.

Good luck with the sale :).

you probably should take off some of your mods and sell separate.

if you have springs on, leave them on for appearance and offer to also give your oem stock ones with purchase of vehicle.

advertise every where possible. craigslist, forums, auto trader, auto recycler, make flyers and post nearest college campus, and ebay if possible. go to walmart and buy for sale signs minimum 3, put on your ride when not using while at work, school,or home always leave on.

text all your friends with the info and offer commission if they sell, do this with buyers who also call you and dont end up buying

stay confident, do all this, and you will sell.... i do it all the time have a great day

Went to the dealership today and going to a different one tomorrow. Definately going to sell the car privately once I get the numbers I want on the evo. I am probably going to try and sell the wheels with the car and everything. If i decide to sell the wheels seperate I will let you guys know. I live on long island new york and do not want the hassle of shipping them. I would prefer having someone pick them up, I could meet you somewhere if you are a little further from me. If I don't get the numbers I want on the new evo I will just wait until next spring to try again. I have my heart set on the wicked white evo se, trying to get it for $35 after taxes and 0% financing.

Im witg stupid ^ wait and see. 10 may be a little low but 18,000-19,000 is outta this world. Thats pretty much what the car was worth when u drove it off the lot (instant depreciation)

1st dealer offered me $14k for the car and she said I can keep the wheels and other stuff if I want. She is more interested in a stock car. For those of you saying the car is worth 10k is ridiculous. Not trying to be rude or anything, maybe prices are more inflated here in new york then where you guys are. The kelly blue book value on my car for private selling is valued at $17500. I have a appt at another dealership on tuesday and going to one today as well. If the numbers are there I will have the for sale sign next week if not I will try again in the spring or keep looking for a better program.

The car is def worth more than 10k. But thinking you'll get 18k for it is unreasonable. I believe you will be doing really well if you sell for 16-16.5 k. Although it doesn't matter for your area, kbb says private party value of your car in my zip is 16.8k - excellent, 15.8 - good.

Confirmed through kbb.com that what I was estimated was roughly around private party in excellent/good condition. Also checked Edmunds and they had your car around ~16.1k in 'outstanding' condition (using zip 10006). Not sure what the 08 2.5s w/conv pkg has, but I gave you the 16" alloys, auto-dim rear-view, Bluetooth, Bose, vanity mirrors, leather shift knob & steering wheel trim, power sunroof, remote window, steering wheel audio controls, and universal remote transmitter (rear-view again). This is of course minus your mods, which really aren't worth anything on the car, except for the wheels (which could bump up the value by ~$500).
