Questions about piecing together a full exhaust.

A great resource for Nissan Sentra, Infiniti G20, 200sx, Pulsar, NX1600, NX2000, Tsuru, Primera and Sunny owners.

Hey guys whats up? I'm looking to put together a exhaust by piece and or learn the whole thing so I figured id ask on here. Basically what exactly does cat back include? Wheres the mid pipe? If you buy headers do they always come with the down pipe? Basically I was gonna buy a axle back Megan racing exhaust use their mid pipe and then buy Stillen headers which seems to have a down pipe unlike the Megan racing headers.....or should I go with OBX? Help! lol.

For the header. There's 4-1 header type and 4-2-1 type. The numbers correspond to the number of tubing. Only the 4-2-1 will have the mid-pipe with it and will get rid of the oem primary cat while the 4-1 will only replace the exhaust manifold. So on the picture below, it's the exhaust manifold (not show) and the midpipe (red) for the 4-2-1. OBX are good header. Best bang for the buck. I got a 4-1 for 5 years, no troubles so far. But the 4-2-1 had minor troubles about the cheap flexible on the midpipe section of it.

For the 4-1 you must had length to the wires of the secondary o2 sensor to have it relocated behing the main cat. As for the 4-2-1, you won't have a cat anymore. You must use a electronic o2 sim (Casper) or a mechanical o2 sim.

Don't waste money on a axle back. Get a Catback instead. The catback is everything after the main cat, the blue and green section that is.
