I had tanabe GF210 springs and they were good on stock shocks. front was 1.5" drop and rear was 1" however after I got damper adjustable shocks and lowering springs the difference was huge. before the car felt like it liked to float alot. save up and go with coilovers or get adjustable shocks and springs.

your second questions makes me thing ur car will turn out to be rice *dont follow trends friend*

what kind of car do you have? your name is 300sx, so do you own a 240 or 300z? and eibach pro kit will only lower a S13 3/4", not the 1.5" they claim. The eibach sportlines will lower a S13 1.75", NOT the 2.2" they claim. Ive had both and measured both.

i have a 98 240..will lowering springs be better or am i better off saving my money to get some megan coilovers? i was talking to the guy at the performance shop and he said that if i get lowering springs i should also get some performance shocks because my OE shocks would wear out.

I have had Eibach sportlines on my other car ('99 Neon RT). The stock struts were done within 2 months, I replaced them with some KYB struts which were worthless after about 6 months. Try reading the threads in the suspension forum or search for megan, etc.

It depends really. I would say anything lower than 1" is going to wear out your stock struts within a few months time.

Coilovers are also great choice, but it really depends on what you're going to use the car for. If you're just doing daily street driving, and don't want to mess with adjustability, then a spring/shock combo is probably the way you should go. If you're planning on autocrossing, drifting, or whatever and feel that you want to be able to adjust ride height, and mess with damper settings, then I'd save up and go for the coilovers.

thanks for the replies!for now i just want it to be street daily driven. i would think that going to the coilover route, it would be cheaper in the long run. i mean getting new shocks and springs would be cheaper but wouldnt it wear out faster?

i'll go read other forums

No your new shock/springs may not wear out faster if you get better parts. Stock replacement struts like GR-2's and Tokico blues seem to be the common stuff people buy but those are meant for stock replacements and can blow out if lowered past their specifications. I'd recommend AGX's or Koni's in that department. Coilovers are not for everyone. I'm personally running Koni's with Tanabe GF210's on my car as well and they're excellent for the street. However seeing that my car is now being taken off the road, it will see track time only and thus my change to coilovers. Coilovers on rough streets will be asking for expensive and time consuming rebuilds. Street driven, go with a good shock/spring combination.
