Anyone know if the dealer can make the doors lock after hitting a certain speed? Both of my Dodge Ram's and my Chrysler T&C are smart enough to do this.

Also, I've been looking into adding auto on/off headlights like my Toyota Celica had, I've found the DEI Nite Light device, but that seems way over priced for a photocell and some pots. Anybody have any advice on making one from scratch?

Some cars are programmable to do either/or. However, I'm not sure of the new Sentra. Not a good answer I know, but it brings up a good topic for discussion. I personally hate the self-locking feature on some cars. Very annoying. I just came back from Florida where I rented a Chevy HHR. It locked the doors when I drove off, and didn't unlock them until I put it back in park. A couple of times when I came to a stop, to drop off my wife for example, she couldn't open the door. She had to manually pull up the lock button before getting out. When you have never had to do this, it quickly becomes very irritating. My biggest reason for wanting my doors to stay unlocked: If I'm ever in an accident, and I lose consciousness, I damn well want someone to be able to get me out of the car, quickly. Especially if it catches fire, or if I'm in water. I don't want to die because someone couldn't open the door. Something to think about.

That's why I love my Dodge pickups, even my old '96. Once they lock, all you do is pull the handle and they unlock, I never use the locks inside my trucks, only the keyless entry. The Sentra won't unlock when you pull the handle, but I'd still like it to lock after I speed off. You'd think manufacturers could figure these small things out. It's not like they haven't had time to think about it in the last 100 years.
