Hey guys, I just bought my Nissan Altima coupe and I was wondering how much it would cost to install and buy HID lights. I don't wanna ruin my car, so I am hoping for a good quality stuff. Any suggestions? Thanks.

you could try the Xentec HIDs. they cost $80 shipped to your door. most people with after market HIDs on our cars have Xentec and aside from a couple people, no one has really had any problems with them. BUT after installing my Xentec HIDs i was no longer able to just leave my lights on "auto". now i have to turn them on to "auto" AFTER i start the car or else only 1 light comes on. but its worth it, i have the 5000k HIDs and they are like a billion times brighter then stock and look so much nicer.

Go to http://www.xenonlink.com and get the HID relay harness as well. $135 + $15 = great success. I have the 6k HID's from them.

thats too much! it's only $80 shipped to your door for the Xentec lights. plus if you want a relay harness that should be like $20 shipped to your door (mine was like $23 but i didn't look around for a good deal). so it should come out to AROUND $100 flat, shipped to your door..... thats if you decide to get the relay harness too. which mine didn't do anything for me lol i'm in the middle of talking to the guy about it to see if his product was a defect, turns out he's located a couple miles away from me lol so it's all good

hey who did you buy your relay harness from? i installed mine on sat and everything worked fine up until last night when i started up my car and my passenger side headlight didnt turn on....a simple turn on and turn off had it back on.....but the relay harness didnt do it job in preventing that from happening

hmmm...i got mine from a different seller in ebay..... "fhg1155" is who i bought mine from.....ill have to test it for a few more days before i start inquiring about a replacement.

during installation I accidentally pulled the wires out of the o-ring for the ground wire connection, I stuck them back in the o-ring, but not THAT securely (I would have just threw on a new o-ring, but I didn’t have one big enough)….thats the only thing I thought of when I got the misfire the other night, but I quickly poo-poo’d that theory because it was only the passenger side that didn’t fire up, and if it wasn’t grounded correctly, both sides wouldn’t have fired up…….i am correct on that, right?

i don't remember BEFORE i got my HID relay harness if it was always the passenger side or if it would which off but NOW (after getting the HID relay harness), it's always the passenger side that doesn't light up when starting the car

FYI.....mine did the same thing again last night....passenger side headlight didnt fire up

weird.....different relay harnesses and all doing the same thing.....my fog light relay harness hasnt failed yet.....only the headlight relay harness....i wonder whats causing this??

whats also wierd is that this only happens when i havent had the headlights on for a while. for instance, i park in a garage at work, and its dark enough in the garage so the lights turn on with auto, and this is when i get my misfires.....so its been 8+ hours since my car has been on and this is when the misfires happen. BUT it seems like after the initial misfire, if i go home, and then leave again when its dark outside (only a few hours after the initial misfire), i dont get a misfire. so it seems like im only getting the misfire if the lights havent been turned on for a long period of time (8+ hours)

i guess an easier of of putting it is if i turn the car on, get the misfire, turn the car off, wait like 5 mins, turn the car back on, i get no misfire.

there may be a trick around this.. Im not sure if it will work with the altima, but it did with my silverado. Get in and press the start button WITHOUT your foot on the brake, so the car comes on and kicks on the autos, let them heat up for a split second, foot on brake and start the car. This gives the HIDs a second to pre-heat so to speak, and prevents the misfire. that is IF the auto kicks on the lights when the car doesnt start.

Someone wanna try this and get back to others? my car doesnt have auto so im outta the loop as to whether itll fire without the car cranking. *shrug*

I have the same misfire problem as all of you...but I've kinda left it as is (no harness).

All it takes, is a lil patience IMO. Just wait a few seconds before turning on the lights. I don't really like or use the AUTO feature, because I park in a garage...and every morning, the lights turn on by themselves.

if we're going to do this we might as well just leave the lights in the "off" position and then turn them on once we start the car....lol....good suggestion though.

I still have yet to have this "one light on" problem with either my Xentek foglights in my Coupe or my Xentek headlights in my wife's sedan

Do you guys have the digital ballasts or the magnetic ones? I have the magnetic ones, and I have not once had this issue.. very strange!!!

True.. It was a bit more affective in the silverado, as it just meant turning the key slowly from off to on then turn ot crank (which ive always been in the habbit of because I like giving the fuel pump its full prime time before going to crank :P ) I suppose it is a bit less practical of a solution with the AC
