So the Diff in my car has 175xxx miles on it. When I first got the car it mad a god awful howling noise. Crawling under the car showed that the diff was COVERED in oil. After a bout with a pressure washer I pulled the fill and drain plugs to find that there was NO OIL in it to drain out. Refilled it with reccomended redline oil and drove it for about 1/2 mile. looked under the car and found lots of oil was leaking at the front, behind the companion flange for the driveshaft. Ended up pulling the diff out and replacing the seal. The seal that was in it was at about a 30 degree angle rather than being straight and there was a noticable gap between the outter edge of the seal and the diff housing. New seal fixed that and the thing no longer leaks. It does however still howl, just not as bad.

I found a guy that is parting out a Z with around 60xxx on it and he will sell me the diff for about 300 shipped to my house. Now on to the questions...

I believe the donor car is an Auto 2+2. Mine is a manual 2+0...

Will it have the same gearing? 4.08?
Will it be VLSD like mine is?
Will my axles and driveshaft bolt up?
Both cars are NA.

Any reasons I should NOT do this?

Anyone closer to Virginia/DC area and wanna sell me a good working diff for around that price so I dont have to pay out the rear on shipping for a rear? I will drive a couple hours to meet and pick it up if thats an option.... Heck if needs be I can even help pull it out of your donor car... :)

All NA diffs are the same (R200), All TT diffs are the same (R230)
