Questions about cruise control

Hi everyone! Two questions about cruise control:

1. I travel a two-lane road to work, it is somewhat hilly, but pretty flat for the most part. I normally use cc on this road, but should I not be using it if it's not completely flat?

2. I thought the 'accel' on your cc was supposed to let the car accelerate slowly - but when I use mine, it seems like my Versa speeds up quickly, and almost too abruptly. Is anyone else experiencing this?

I use mine in quite hilly driving, although I might back off one or two mph on a steeper hill if the rpm's go to 3000 or more. (Mine has the CVT.)

If you tap the "Accel" instead of holding it, it should accelerate about 1mph. If I want a 3 mph increase, I tap it three times. Same thing to decelerate. Unless I'm trying to accelerate while already going up a hill, it always does so fairly gradually.

I have the CVT and even in hilly areas, the cruise control doesn't send the rpms flying but when you hold the Accel button, I think it's normal for it take off like that. Every car I've used that button with does the equivalent of pushing the gas pedal about 3/4 of the way down and taking off.

yea... you have an S...

if you hold the button, it will rev higher and try to speed up quicker, but if you just tap it up then it'll speed up slowly...
