Questions about buying a 240SX

A friend of mine is selling is his 1992 Nissan 240SX SE, 223,000KM, 5spd for $4,000 CDN. It looks great except for a few little dings and a little bit of rust near the struts in the wheel well but my Dad says it’s all fixable.

I’m going to have a mechanic do a pre-purchase inspection of it on Thursday, but out of curiosity I had a Carfax done on it, which revealed nothing so I thought that was great. I decided to do an ICBC Claims Check on it, and it showed up eight claims which I’ve included as an attachment. To me, it seems like I should skip the car and find something else but I’m asking for a second opinion before I go ahead with the $70 inspection.

Edit: According to Carfax it has had a few owners, if that means anything.

the few owners does mean acouple of things, A) it couldve been into an accident and not reported to ins. company,B) it couldve and most likely has been ridden hard, how much KM = miles? mine is 139,000 miles and running strong, i have a 89 240 and it was babied all its life, few spots of rust, not bad tho, only 1 owner.

230 000 kilometers = 142 915.374 miles

That's according to Google. It's up there, it's a nice car though. There's a little bit of rust here and there, but it looks nice. I'm just concerened about it having a bunch of owners, lots of accidents. It was driven in Vancouver, BC mostly so it's accident central.

i would pass that up, one or two accidents is enouf, i know a 240 around here going for about 3 grand i think, its in very nice condition...

ummm it sounds good. id jsut double check and since its had so many collsion claims id would thuroughly check for frame damage
