I love the car but it has and had some problems. ive been tryin to jsut read and just fixed most of everything on my own, i changed the knock sensor and a bad fuel injector ,spark plugs, all this i learned of here but now when i check the check engine light codes it sayin nothin is wrong, but the car is still not runnin a hundred percent it starts to stutter wen i realy get on it and its really botherin me i feel like im not gettin my full V6 power. ive been putting in premium gas and the stuff you can buy to puor in the gas that also helps to clean the sytem my last idea i to change the gas filter but im open for any suggestions. From day day one ive been tryin to get the car runnin right and evrytime i fix somethin its just gets a little bit better im jsut lookin for any input on wat u guys think it could be

and also i cant get the car to chirp second which makes me really htink somethin is wrong or is that not something our for gens do

what do you mean by "chirp second"? for your engine troubleshooting try cleaning parts like the throttle body, iacv, throttle adjustment etc. maybe a vacuum leak somewhere?

My 95 Maxima ran like a scalded dog and it was an automatic. 95 model had OBD 1. Your problem might not show up with a check engine light. Go to www. nicoclub.com/FSM and download the file for your car. There is a wealth of info there.

95 has obd II not I plus a separate consult port - both do the same but look different.

A true OBDII port will have a 16 pin connector. According to the OBD website http://www.OBDii.com/connector.html the 95 MAxima is not a true compliant OBDII car. It could be depending on the month manufactured. OBDII was mandated in all 96 vehicles.

Yeah and when you go to Autozone they only have a obd2 code readerand when you say 95 they think obd1 when its really obd2.

And the OB2 plug in is by the heater on the passenger side not by the fusebox

I would check or recheck all the emmissions stuff;Make sure no loose hosesClean EGRMake sure EGR tube going to intake manifold is openCLean PCVCharcoal canisterClean IACVClean throttle body

If you can use a multimeter to check resistance and voltage to andfrom these items you might find it.

My car was running bad till I cleaned up the IACV and carbon out of the throttle body. New plugs wont overcome the problem if it the carcant breathe.
