Guys, I have been a member of this forum for a few years now. The reason I joined is b/c I am very interested in acquiring one of these G35 babies. I would like to thank the people responsible for this forum and the members b/c without you guys I probably would have given up even thinking of pruchasing one. I found out that the car is reliable and performs like...well you guys know. Now I believe I have found one, so here I am again asking for opinions from the experienced people here. It is a 2004 G35 loaded with all options. No it does not have 19" rims but everthing else it does have. Even the nav system, which I really don't care about, but......it still has the oringinal factory warranty until february of next year. The asking price is 26,000.00. I need sugestions and tips....I have only seen the car from the outside, I have not driven it nor looked at the engine yet. That will be tomorrow. Do you guys have any tips and/or suggestions for me to take with me the dealership. Anything to look out for any quirks, etc.........

Thiswill be the car that I will be driving day to day for the next four to five years... Here are the stats....

I think $26M is a bit too much. $23 or $24M would be more like it.

I am in Dallas and I know where this car lot is. I do not know anything about there so I can't say anything negative but those car lots around addison airport on both Midway and Addison road are luxury car dealers.

I don't know how they check out these cars but I would advise having a licensed Infiniti technician at either Crest or Sewell check out the car before buying.

Give the car salesman a small deposit or drivers license whatever he wants to let you take the car for about 3 hours or have him meet you at the dealership of your choice and the salesman can drive it over there.

When purchasing a car of this value I would prefer to buy certified. But that is just me. I am not saying there is anything wrong with the car....I looked at the website and it looks to be in really good condition in and out. But I would personally feel safer having a licensed infiniti technician tell me that the car check out.

Just my opinion anyway. Let us know if you decide to buy it.

I can't really tell you much about the $ since I live in Canada. But you can check out some online places to compare. Like autotrader or automart.

Just don't rush it. I hope you can be a happy G owner soon.

I got mine, 03 G35 6MT fully loaded with everything cept for rims, for 25000. It depends on the area, too. I think Gs are just more expensive in CA. the dealers are always like Oooo it has the navi bleh bleh bleh.. but if you really think about it.. the factory navi is like 2 grand... an REALLY REALLY NICE aftermarket one is like 1.2 grand.. I think there's still some space you can push... 24000~25000 will be more reasonable since now the G35s are supposed to be CHEAPER becaue the G37s are coming out. Good luck and let us know if you got it or not :]

I just bought a 2003 2 months ago May in Cali and drove back to Baltimore - hence my screen name. I like to call it a 2700 mile test drive. My new love had a tick under 8k on the odometer. It now has 12.5k.

The G35 pretty much comes with a slew of features so no need to list them all. Standard rims are 17".

The main OPTIONS are:

Automatic or Manual ( I believe manual has more HP and Brembo Brakes)

Performance Package with 18" rims (19" not offered until 2005 I believe). Also note that I've seen several cars listed for sale (including mine) that describe 19" rims when they are 18". So again 18" was the option from 2003-4 and 19" is the option for 2005 and beyond. Of course all of the wheels are interchangebale so make sure you know what originally came on the year that you want.

Spoiler Pacage - with under body diffuser and rear wing.

Sunroof (I forget what package this is a part of). Maybe part of the package that gets you leather.

Navigation or Sattelite radio - someone already pointed out the price of the navigation system (for me this was almost a must have - because I figured I wasn;t paying 2000 by buying used).

You didn't state the mileage so it is hard to determine the value. From what I' ve been seeing for $26,000 I would expect it to have at most 20k miles or less.

I would say that there seems to be a fair amount of Gs on the market, and as others have pointed out the new model is out. These are things that I think help you when when buying a used model.

Good Luck.

19" wheels were not available before 2005. 17s or 18s will work fine; there is less risk of wheels damage and tires will be cheaper.

The car has enough years and miles that you should have it inspected, at your own expense, by a trustworthy mechanic who is competent with G35s.

The 03-04 G's have issues with the stereo deck, excessive brake dust, tire feathering, and some have oil consumption problems.

Now, that's not to say your car will have any of those problems, just know that its possible. I would recommend getting the newest model year you can afford. You might want to wait until the 08 coupe comes out to lower the prices of older models. The dealers will be more willing to wheel and deal on older models to move the inventories.
