Hey everyone. I have a 1992 300ZX TT. I live in New York in the 5 boroughs, and I tend to travel alot. So I was going from Queens back home, and I think i hit a crazy pothole. So I get home and i see the tire has a hole in it, and when i take the rim off the car, I find the worst thing possible. I ended up cracking the rim, and it seems to not be weldable. I have ADR M-sport Hyper Black 18" by 9.5 rims on the car with a 35 offset and a 5 by 114.3 lug pattern. Before i found out that the rim was cracked, i had ordered tires for it from tirerack for the 18 by 9.5 rims. MY question is if i get the 18 by 8.5 rims that they have, will the tires from the other tire fit on the new ones? If someone could get back to me on this i would be highly appreciative.

I bought the tires that were originally on the rims. I bought Kumho 265/35R18-93W tires. They are the Kuhmo Ecsta tires that are the ultra high performance all season tires. So what do you think?

You should be fine. Optimal is 90% of the tire width, but I have seen guides that show a 265 on 8.5 as well. I wouldn't go any wider, though.

I think it'd work...but it is more than you'd normally use on a 8.5 - kinda pushing it. They will be hard to mount on a 8.5 lol

Alrt. Im in the verge of buying some 17x9in +25 offset and 17x10in +20offset. What are a good streched fit for this rims. I was thinking 225/44/17 and 265/40/17 for the rear. Could I possibly go a little wider on the back and still keep the tire streched ? I def. want to keep the streched fit.

Stretching is for ricers.

That stagger will give you terrible understeer, if you care about handling. 245/45 and 265/45 would be my recommendation. And you will need about 2-2.5 degrees of camber and a fender lip roll out back to make them fit.

OP, 265 on a 8.5 is REALLY pushing it. Could work in a pinch, but definitely not recommended. I run a 255 on my 8.5, and it's pretty fat.
