I've noticed that a lot of guys into Honda tuning will upgrade injectors while still N/A (I mean no nitrous either). Why is that? When is it that upgrading injectors on an N/A build is going to be beneficial. I've been confused on this topic because most factory engines run a little rich and see horsepower increases by leaning out the APR's. So, why would you want to increase the injector size? How do they get the necessary air to support larger injectors?

Thanks.

Port the head.

But if you're talking about a building a motor with no turbo(yet?), then you would do everything to build it to get ready to turbo. Of course.

we used to own a 1986 or 87 Nissan maxima with a 3.0 engine it was a manual my dad bought it brand. eventually one of the injectors went bad in it and he decided to just buy an entire set so instead of buying the ones for the maxima he bought the injectors for the Z he had them installed and all of a sudden it was a different car the thing could do burn outs down the street, front wheel drive car too.

How big are we talking? The s2000 comes with 360cc injectors and that makes 240hp out of 2 liters, so I cant imagine needing anything bigger than that for a naturally aspirated 4 cylinder. I've heard that smaller injectors are easier to tune as well, so I dont know if there is much wisdom in putting massive injectors in.

I'm upgrading to 370cc injectors because I'm hoping with my new intake manifold to actually need more fuel to make more power.

i would like to correct myself my dad didn't tell me that he had rebuilt the transmission 4 times and the 4th time had a transmission imported form japan that would fit the car so the gearing was different too. he said after that it would only go 103 mph but the gearing most likely made the car do burnouts than the injectors

I bet it has a lot to do with the high rpm needing a decent amount of fuel, and the small injectors not providing enough fast enough.

But that's the only thing I can think of. Our stock injectors are 270ccs on KAs so they are good for around 190-200WHP. Any more then that and you'll want SR 370's.

I just got an Enthalpy ECU, and they recomended 370cc injectors and a Maxima MAF... With the tuning, they are able to make use of the extra fuel. I also have larger valves, ported heads, intake, and so on.. I do believe anthing more than 370cc would be rediculous and any injector upgrade would be pointless without ECU tuning to make use of the extra fuel.

Havn't got it all installed yet.. Waiting on the ECU return. I am also replacing my diff with an S15 Helical and my driveline with a one piece aluminum unit. Along with the 11lb flywheel and other mods, it should haul arse.
