question- what year clusters can i swap?

i have a 1995 maxima but the odometer stop rolling and i want to fix it but it's to expensive buying a new speedometer so i decided to swap the entire gauge cluster. i was just wondering what years i could actually swap in. i need exact years and models if possible. thanks in advance!

From what I've read, you should be able to use any cluster from a 95-98. The only difference between models is that the SE clusters have white gauge faces. The difference between the 95/96 and the 97/98 clusters is OBDI and OBDII repectively.

Here are pictures of the 96 and 97 clusters. The connections look to be the same.

do you think what obd it is should effect the way it works?

Judging by the wiring diagrams, it doesn't look as though using an OBDII cluster in an OBDI equipped car will affect anything. It looks as though there may be some question if you were using an OBDI cluster in an OBDII equipped vehicle (due to more pin outs being used on the OBDII cluster).
