Hey friends~I’ve Just purchased 350Z base model and base model do not have On/Off swich for the TCS - Traction Control I want to do some burn outs and do donuts and try to drift sometimes but without it I can not do so… sad… So I was wondering is there any way to turn off the TCS off? I’ve heard there is a way to pull the plug and it will disable it.. Can I? or can I intall a swich to make it on and off? I know for drifting I need LSD because base model is open diff. but at least turning off TSC should make me so much happer. Let me know if any one know how to Thanks ^^

Are you sure its a base model? I've done burnouts with mine and never even saw a slip light...

Which one lights up? the red light or the amber light?

can you confirm that the locations where the TCS or VDC controls are empty? They are located just above you fuel release door.

...I am curious

You will not be able to do burnouts with your Z unless you take the ABS fuse out.

Yep TCS or VDC controls are empty. You see that light in the center gauge right under 9 RPM its says SLIP. I donno i'm confused... and one more thing.. if you do burn outs does only tire spins? in base with no LSD? man i have too many questions...

so we have to pull the abs fuse to do burnouts i thought so cause it still cuts power even when tcs is off. i can do 3rd gear burnouts with my ghetto wheel setup but with stock it spins for a sec then stops.

One time I saw a guy in his G35 take off his TCS on a roadcourse, needless to say he did not know how his car would respond and he went into a drift, countersteered to correct and slammed into a wall. He no longer has a G35.

I always turn mine off. At the track I never had any problems...

Not saying everyone does, but if you don't know the car's limits when it is off, you may be heading for disaster.

If it's an 08, TCS is standard.

Hmmm...then Nissan's website last year had it improperly labeled on the features page...

I do see that the Base doesn't have TCS though on nissanhelp.com

Odd.

Nor will it have the VLSD found in Enthusiast models and higher, if it's truly a base model you'll have an open diff, so you could still wear down both rears evenly enough.
