I have a question to those who own SR's.

I was wondering how reliable is the motor? How long have you had it swapped (professionally or not), is it a daily driver, how is the motor currently running, still running properly, and what not.

thanks in advance.

They are only as reliable as the owner of them is to properly maintaining them, just like any other motor It also depends on the condition they are in before they go in your car. Make sure you check them out THOROUGHLY before you install them. I made that mistake and mine came with cracked rings and a turbo with bad seals...and stuck lifters. Now I'm sure that if the motor was properly maintained beforehand and properly inspected at the time of install, it would have been a great motor, so long as it was properly maintained after the install. See the trend, maintenance. And not beating the piss out of it everytime you start the car up, that will help ensure a functioning motor.

I have heard many good things about the SR, durability wise, and how reliable they are, i'm assuming as daily driving. Obviously, no matter how good of an engine you build, if you abuse it, your bound to have something break down on you. As long as you treat the engine good, and do routine maintains, u'll be set.

If you search, you will find a ton of threads about SR reliability.

Here's a good one.
