Hi! This is my first post, but I've read enough to ask a pretty legit question.

I am planning on purchasing a 240, and I heard that you can drift a stock ka24de pretty good. But, I want to know if it's better to buy an already swapped 240 or build of the ka24? I know this is a much asked question, but it relates more to the drifting side. I want to know what would be better in the long run for drifting. Any response to this would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,Coheed

if you would be swapping anyway, and you have the money, buy a previously swapped one provided the swap is clean.... it will be cheaper than swapping yourself

In the long run? I would start with a stock engine and progress as your skill does....

I would get the kade and upgrade as you learn more. You may end up not wanting a turbo, or you might by the car with the swap already done and crash it cause you can't control it yet.

Thanks for the input guys! It's really appreciated. I think I'll go with just a stock ka24 and build it up as my skill groes, then if I want it, swap in the sr. Thanks again.

wise choice..

If I could go back and do things over...

I would get suspension work, 2 way, bucket, wheels, all that first ...

THEN do a swap....

that would be the best choice..IMHO

Just another question, this one towards the suspension side of things...

Do you really need a $800-$1200 set of coilovers, or can you use a good set of shocks and springs? Either one doesn't matter, but I just want to see if I can save a little bit of money here or there.

coilovers are considered better because they are usually alot stiffer than any shock/spring combo you can make(save coilover sleeves like ground control) they have matching dampers that are made for the spring that are mounted to them, not just mix n matched. if you really are serious about suspension, then get coilovers, if you just want to lower it and get a fair amount of performance increase, get the shock/spring combo

Yea, I was looking for the more performance suspension, and coilovers looked the best to me. Thanks for the reponse, and I think that's the end of my questions....for now muhahaha...juuust kidding.
