Is it true that on a ka you have to use premium gas or it will destroy your headgasket and ring lands? I'm f*** if so because that's be over 4$ a gallon.

Its recommended to run 91 octane but not necessary I run 89 religiously and when the funds permit I do run 91-93 octane. I can feel a difference. Idk if its a placebo effect or what. But I just feel like its more healthy. Not power obviously but I feel likeits just smoother.

I actually can agree here, though my KA24 as of right now isn't the healthiest motor in the world. I was forced to use low octane gas at a stop...cause that's all the station carried (all my wut)! I try to baby my cars... (to the point I try not to use E10 blends of gas in my cars. Anything with Ethanol on cars that aren't made to handle it don't use it if I can help it...mostly because Ethanol is more corrosive to rubber fuel lines than straight gas.)

I'll have to refuel with premium grade just to see the difference now, if anything.

well I feel like my 240 gets s*** gas mileage so ever since I started putting premium I swear its getting better mpg...... could just be in my head but I think I lasts longer. I just put 3/4 worth or premium and 1/4 of regular since the recommended is 91 right? lol

Premium is best for knocking. Not midgrade?

Higher octane prevents knocking. It wont knock on a stock engine wkth stock timing but if you advance your timing and run regular it will certainly knock under heavy load (high rpm pull from a stop or uphill) I religiously run 89 octane or better. The fsm says premium fuel usage
