VVL pistons fit in FWD SR20 DE so I can't see why they wouldn't fit in the DET...

...however why would you want them in a turbo setup? High compression/cast aluminum pistons....+forced induction...not for me.

i just got coilovers for my s14 and a 50mm turbosmart bov and I'm going to build my bottom end. i was thinking of getting vet pistons for future ve head swap that's why i'm asking but the thing is im planing to build the bottom end with the vet pistons and run my stock sr head while i get the ve head. what do you think would happen if i do so? i dont want to make a double expense buying det piston then when i do my ve head swap buy vet pistons..do you get what im trying to say.. i really thank you for your feed back on this..

You're going VE turbo right? That's your goal

So if you go with a VE bottom end, and VE head you're going with a high compression, fragile, not intendend for boost setup

If you are looking for a killer turbo combo, look for a regular CP 8.5:1 or 9:1 piston(for a det) and then run the VE head for the greater flow.

In the grand scheme of things though, what is your goal? If you're looking for a generic street car like 98% of the forum, a VE head is overkill. If you're looking for a track slut who is all peformance, then go wild with VE.

Those ve pistons will not work with regular head, you will mess up the valves and probably mess up the pistons as well.

It will work. DE guys use VE pistons for N/A builds and have no problems with valves hitting the pistons. They use the SR16VE piston to bring the compression ratio to 12.1, while those pistons in a 2.0Ve would give you 13.X compression. You can use the DET pistons and prob get away with SR16VE cams at most. I have conflicting reports on this as I know someone who uses DET pistons with a VE head and SR16VE cams. If your going to do the head swap just buy the CP 9.1 ve pistons.
